I'm sorry to hear about the kids getting nipped, but I think Squirt was just doing what comes naturally for a dog. Even humans like to have a 'space cushion' so there's really no surprise in relation to the dog's defensive behavior. The $100,000 insurance policy requirement is ludicrous for sure. It's no wonder the legal system is so bogged down with trivial cases such as this one. (Dangerous breeds such as Pit Bulls are a different case altogether.)
