You can call me ‘Professor 1337′

2005/02/09 by Rolando Garza

This is the third time I volunteered at Junior Achievment (here in Monterrey, known as IMPULSA). I’m now teaching for 4th graders at the EuroAmerican School of Monterrey.

The kids have all been great. They’re all a bunch of nice and fun kids. It was interesting to hear some 4th graders talking about using Ares or Kazaa, and then other kids telling them they’d get viruses in their PC’s.

I think I did well by not advising them to use BitTorrent.

I took some pics of the group. Check them out:

Oh, as a note,… “Professor 1337” should be read “Professor Leet”.

4th graders know about Kazaa? That makes me feel extremely old now :| and a bit preocupied, where are these kids parents?

On the other hand its good that they know about getting viruses and stuff. Sheez how old are these kids again? I didn’t know about the internet until I was 12 and already in secundaria.

LOL… me too! I first started using ICQ… then drifted into napster… then the cyber-crime mafia recruited me …
    lol, j/k…

Btw, it’s nice to see we’re up at the same time… though I should get ready… the bus leaves in 20 mins!
